A place in my world and a farmer

I'm not very close to religion, but I respect it.
A lot in this case.

This is Lithuania. Hills of crosses.
Went there backpacking in 2008. Heard the story about the first man who put down a cross. A farmer. The daughter was sick and he was making his cross to get some hope. Sat it on the hill. Then the next one came. Then another...
New leaders came to the country. Burned it down. All the crosses on the hill. Then they left.
Another man came. New cross. Then the next one...

Hill of crosses have now (I guess) 2-3 one million crosses. Big. Small. In three. In metal. Some are set up for prayer. Some of the recalls. Some to thank.
Wandering around and looking at the small text about hope, about memories, about prayer. Becomes almost religious.

Think a little more; value; 500,000 (happy value)

More world, cool people; http://showyourworld.blogspot.com/

On a documentary on the Baltic states I saw a very moving piece on the crosses. You can destroy the crosses, but not the spirit of the people thank God.
